New York Knicks Reportedly Looking Into Trading J.R. Smith

But can they find a suitor?

The New York Knicks are reportedly looking into trading J.R. Smith. According to ESPN's Ian Begley and Marc J. Stein, the Knicks have become frustrated with Smith's play on the court, where he is currently shooting a career-low 34.8 percent from the field, and "fed up" with all of his antics which include the two shoelace untying incidents, his many Twitter gaffes and more.

For now, any potential deal will have to wait until Jan. 15 because of "the nature of his contract." But...now hear us out...since the market is probably low on teams willing to take a chance on a guy with two years remaining on his three-year, $18 million contract, who has struggled mightily on the court and become a hassle for management to deal with outside of the game of basketball. So, maybe this is all just a scare tactic. If that's the case, it looks like it may be working because recently Earl sent out the following tweet:

Huge apologies to my team, to the league an most of all you the fans! #JRSmithSigningOff
